For the NY Bobcats, the holidays are the season of giving. For the past 4 years, the Bobcats have hosted a charity game against local rivals, the NJ Rockets. On Saturday, December 18, the Bobcats dedicated the game at Newbridge Arena in Bellmore, NY to Richard Heimler for the Lung Cancer Alliance.
A total of $1,000 was raised through a Chinese Auction of gifts provided by NY Bobcat players and their families. Mr. Heimler's niece Ali started the evening with a breathtaking figure skating routine and the evening ended with the raffle drawing.
Due to the close proximity of the two teams and their longstanding rivalry, this is always a well-attended game. Players, families, and fans from both teams made this a memorable evening by joining the Bobcats commitment to community service and giving generously to those in medical need.
