Raiders’ Jonathan Parker Named CHL Player of the Week

Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that forward Jonathan Parker of the Prince Albert Raiders is the CHL Player of the Week for the week ending December 19 after scoring four goals and five assists for nine points in three games with a plus-minus rating of plus-5.

Parker and the Raiders met their East Division rivals the Regina Pats three straight times beginning last Tuesday night with a 6-3 win. Parker scored two goals including the game-winner and added an assist as the game’s second star. He claimed second star honours again on Friday night following a four-point effort with two goals and two assists despite a 6-4 loss. His week wrapped up on Saturday with two assists as the Raiders edged the Pats 6-4.

Parker, a 19-year-old from Solana Beach, California, is playing in his third full WHL season. He sits 11th in WHL scoring with 43 points in 37 games played scoring 22 goals and 21 assists.

Also considered for the award this week was Jean-Gabriel Pageau of the Gatineau Olympiques who scored four goals with four assists for eight points in three games with a plus-minus rating of plus-6. Colin Behenna of the Barrie Colts had five goals and an assist for six points in three games.
