Stampede Forward Commits to Union College

The Sioux Falls Stampede announced that forward Sam Coatta has committed to play hockey at Union College beginning next season.

Coatta, 20, is playing his second season in the USHL and has scored 16 points (7g, 9a) while playing in all 30 games for the Stampede. He put together a five-game point streak from November 26th to December 12th which included goals in four straight contests. Coatta has also served as one of the team's captains this season. The Minnetonka, Minnesota native tallied 21 points (9g, 12a) in 57 games during his first USHL season in 2009-10.

Waterloo Black Hawks forward Tyson Fulton is also committed to attend Union College.

Union is located in Schenectady, New York and is a member of the ECAC. Three USHL alumni are currently on the roster for the Dutchmen; Ryan Forgaard (Tri-City Storm), Troy Grosenick (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), and Keith Kinkaid (Des Moines Buccaneers).
