Weeks Hockey Organization Establishes Kevin MacLean Trust

Press Release

Weeks Hockey Organization announces the establishment of the Kevin MacLean Trust to assist Kevin and his family with costs they will encounter during Kevin’s rehabilitation.

Kevin, a former captain of the Weeks Jr. A Crushers and current member of the Weeks Hockey Organization Board of Directors, suffered a serious head injury in early January and remains in hospital in Halifax.

“Weeks Hockey Organization Board of Directors has established a Trust for the benefit of Kevin MacLean and Family as they deal with the health consequences arising from Kevin’s snowmobile accident”, said Board President Wade Taylor.

Taylor stated, “There have been many offers of support for Kevin and his family. Kevin is an integral part of our Organization and hockey in Pictou County. He is the only 4 year player in the history of the Junior A Crushers and his evolvement from a walk on to team captain and one of the most respected players in the League is a testament to his dedication and character. Our Board wants to take a leadership position in helping Kevin and his family in these tough times and we know the greater hockey community will join us.”

Taylor advised that the proceeds of the 50/50 draw during Thursday’s game will be used to establish the Trust. Additional contributions may be made through the website (www.weekscrushershockey.com) or by cheque, payable to the “Kevin MacLean Family Trust”, c/o Weeks Junior A Crushers” and sent to Weeks Hockey Organization, 36 Maple Avenue, New Glasgow, B2H 2B2.

The Trust will be administered by the Executive of the Weeks Hockey Organization Board.
