Bulldogs Acquire Defenseman

The Alberni Valley Bulldogs would like to announce the team has acquired the playing rights of 93 D Nicholas Tupper from the Fernie Ghostriders of the KIJHL Junior B league.

Tupper, originally from Calgary, Alberta, started the season with the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

“We’re very pleased to add Nick to our line up,” said Alberni Valley Bulldogs’ Head Coach Kevin Willison. “He is a young, energetic player and he’s looking forward to the opportunity of playing in the BCHL,” added Willison. “He should add some depth, size and strength to our back end and we’re hoping that this can be a permanent home for Nick. I’m confident he can contribute and make this a better hockey club.”

Several teams from the BCHL were actively interested in Tupper.

“I’m very excited to be an Alberni Valley Bulldogs,” said Tupper. “It’s a great opporunity to get the chance to play for such a great organization.”

Tupper stands at 6’4” and weighs in at 185lbs. He played 27 games for the Fernie Ghostriders and contributed with 2 goals, 6 assists and 53 PIM.

“Nick has tremendous upside, plays extremely hard and has a desire to win,” said Fernie Ghostriders’ Head Coach and former Bulldogs Assistant Coach Will Verner.”
