Moose trade Desjardins to Quebec for Duke

Press Release

Halifax Mooseheads General Manager Cam Russell announced this evening that the Club has traded 19 year old forward Gabriel Desjardins to the Quebec Remparts along with two 2nd round picks in the 2012 QMJHL Entry Draft.

In return, the Mooseheads receive 18 year old defenseman Brendan Duke and Quebec’s 1st round pick in the 2012 QMJHL Entry Draft.

Duke, a Cole Harbour native, was selected in the 2nd round (32nd overall) by the Remparts in 2010.  He has 4 points in 53 games with Quebec over 2 seasons.  He recently returned from a shoulder injury that resulted in him missing the first 29 games of this season.

Desjardins leaves the Mooseheads after three and half seasons in Halifax.  A 2nd round pick (24th overall) of the Club in 2010, Desjardins recorded 87 points in 205 games with the Mooseheads.

The Halifax Mooseheads would like to welcome Brendan Duke to Moose Country. The Club would also thank Gabriel Desjardins for his dedication to the Halifax Mooseheads and wish him the best of luck with his new team.
