Screaming Eagles Deal Rose

Press Release

Sydney–The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles have traded forward David Rose (1991-08-14) to the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in exchange for the Drakkar’s 3rd round pick in the 2013 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s midget entry draft.

Rose, 20, was acquired from the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada at the 2012 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s midget draft to finalize a previous trade between the teams.

In 39 games this season with the Screaming Eagles, the Longueuil, Quebec native scored 10 goals and added 28 assists.

In announcing the trade Screaming Eagles General Manager Pierre Roux said that Rose approached him on Thursday asking about the possibility about being traded because he needed a special course that would enable him to enter McGill University next year.

“Education is important to David and to our organization and he was unable to receive the course he needed through correspondence so we honoured his request for a trade to a team in Quebec where he can attend a C.E.G.E.P to receive this course.”
