SJHL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Press Release

SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jesse Ross, Weyburn Red Wings
1991 F Jesse Ross (Regina, SK) is starting to run away with the SJHL goal and point scoring lead. He upped his totals to 38 goals and 76 points over the weekend, thanks to another 6-goals and 7-points in 3 games played. That included a Saturday night hat trick against La Ronge. Ross needs 12 goals in his last 13 games to hit the 50-goal plateau.
Runners-Up: Brandon Sloan, Melfort; Jesse Bernard & Wheaton King, Nipawin; Keegan Bruce, Weyburn

SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK
Mitch Boucher, Notre Dame Hounds
1992 D Mitch Boucher (Moose Jaw, SK) played in just two games over the past week, but supplied plenty of offense from the back end, picking up 2-goals and 5-points. Boucher is part of a veteran Hounds defense, including captain Carson Grolla, who Boucher narrowly edged out for this week's honour. Boucher now has 25 points (5g-20a) in 40 games this season.

SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
Tyler Ross, Estevan Bruins
1993 G Tyler Ross (Warren, Michigan) was the only netminder to make three starts in the past week, and after a loss to La Ronge on Friday, he bounced back and held Flin Flon to 2 goals in 2 games, including none on Sunday, in his first SJHL shutout. The Bruins brought Ross in just prior to the deadline, and leaned on him heavily with starter Steven Glass nursing an injury.
