Press Release
The final game of day one at the 2012 Central Canada Cup All-Star
Challenge presented by Huff Estates in memory of Peter Huff was another
close affair that would see the CCHL Yzerman Division All-Stars narrowly
defeat the OJHL South Division All-Stars 4-2.
Just over five minutes into the first period the two teams would trade
goals with Corey Kalk of the North York Rangers notching his second of
the tournament and Luc Deschamps of the Ottawa Jr. Senators replying for
the Yzerman Division. Fabian Walsh of the Kanata Stallions gave the
CCHL a lead with just two minutes remaining, but the OJHL South would
answer back quickly with another North York Ranger, John Carpino,
knotting the game at two.
CCHL Yzerman would take over the game in period two on the strength of
goals from Ryan Collins and Ben Robillard of the Ottawa Jr. Senators,
giving the Yzerman Division All-Stars their first victory of the
tournament 4-2 over the OJHL South Division All-Stars. Netminder Andy
Munroe of the Pembroke Lumber Kings picked up the victory with a 16 save
performance.
The Player of the Game for the CCHL Yzerman Division was Fabian Walsh,
while Corey Kalk took home the honours for the OJHL South Division.
