Malouin, Gélinas and Desrosiers named the TELUS three stars of the week

Jérémie Malouin, Guillaume Gélinas and Philippe Desrosiers were named today the TELUS three stars of the week for December 17 to the 23rd, 2012.

Jérémie Malouin, the Drummondville Voltigeurs forward is the first star of the week. He tallied 7 points in 3 games with a +/- of +7. Named the first star on Saturday against the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada with 4 goals including his 21st this season, he scored the winning goal in his team’s 5-2 win. Friday, against the Sherbrooke Phoenix, in a 5-4 win for the Voltigeurs during the shootout, Malouin collected 3 points (1+2) including a shorthanded goal.

Guillaume Gélinas, the Val-d’Or Foreurs defenseman gets the second star of the week. During his only game against the Gatineau Olympiques, the 18 year old played the best game of his junior career, scoring 4 points and leading his club to a 6-3 win. It’s worth noting that his 2 goals were also his first for the 2012-13 season.

Philippe Desrosiers the Rimouski Océanic goaltender get the third star of the week. Even though he only played one game this week on the road against the Québec Remparts. He was sentational making 43 saves when his team snatched the win (4-3) despite the fact that they were completely dominated in shots 46-18. With their sixth straight win, the Oceanic (50 pts) are in 1st place in the TELUS East division followed by the Remparts (49 pts).
