Prince Albert SK –
The Prince Albert Raiders have recalled three players today, including
17-year-old forward Luke Mahura, 16-year-old forward Spencer Meyer and
15-year-old defenceman Brendan Guhle.
Mahura spent 39 games with the Green
and Gold last season, scoring a goal and adding 6 penalty minutes. This
season, the St. Albert, Alberta native has appeared in 31 games for the
Bonnyville Pontiacs of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, scoring 10
goals and 2 assists.
Meyer has recorded 3 goals and 6
assists for 9 points in 18 games with the Grandview Steelers of the
Pacific International Junior hockey League after spending the first
weekend of the season with the Raiders. Last year, the Surrey, British
Columbia product recorded 15 points in 26 games for the West Valley
Hawks of the BC Major Midget League.
Guhle was the Raiders 3rd
overall selection in last May’s WHL Bantam Draft after scoring 24 points
in 32 games for the Sherwood Park Flyers in the Alberta Major Bantam
Hockey League. The Sherwood Park, Alberta native is playing with his
hometown Kings in the Alberta Midget Hockey League.
The Raiders currently have 4 players
dawning their country’s colours at international tournaments, with Leon
Draisaitl and Mark McNeill representing Germany and Canada,
respectively, at the 2013 World Junior Hockey Championships in Ufa,
Russia while Tim Vanstone and Reid Gardiner are playing for Team West at
the 2013 World Under-17 Challenge in Quebec, alongside Raiders prospect
Rylan Parenteau.
