Broncos Land Former WHL #1 Pick; Few Trades Made

The Humboldt Broncos have landed (95) F Alex Forsberg, after the 17-year-old left the WHL's Prince George Cougars and requested a trade. Forsberg was not moved within the Western Hockey League, and was granted his release. He was the 1st overall bantam pick in 2010, and as a 14-year-old, he racked up 72-points in 44-games playing AAA Midget with the Beardy's Blackhawks.  Forsberg had 40-points (15g-25a) in 51 games as a 16-year-old rookie in Prince George last season.

The Estevan Bruins welcome back Dylan Smith.  The 20-year-old had 37-goals and 74-points to lead the Bruins a year ago.  He joined the EJHL's Connecticut Oilers to start this season, but will return to the Bruins for part of a fourth season shortly.

Yorkton Terriers add (94) F Josh Ellis from the North Okanagan Knights.
The Weyburn Red Wings trade (92) D Jens Johnson to the Notre Dame Hounds for (94) D Colton Laraque.

The Kindersley Klippers trade (92) F Brett Printz to the Grande Prairie Storm (AJHL) for future considerations.

*A deal between Melfort and Whitecourt (AJHL) was completed.  Player name(s) to be announced later.

Melville receives (95) F Tyson Predinchuk from the WHL's Spokane Chiefs.

The Nipawin Hawks acquire (92) Carter Berg from the Melfort Mustangs for (94) David Heath and future considerations.
