67's acquire local defenceman Ryan Duhaime

OTTAWA – The Ottawa 67’s picked up another defenceman from the Ottawa area today, acquiring 19-year-old Ryan Duhaime from the Mississauga Steelheads for a 14th round pick in the 2014 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection draft.

Duhaime, from Stittsville, played six games with Mississauga this season. He played Triple-A Midget with the Ottawa Valley Titans and also saw action with the Kanata Stallions of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL).

“This was an opportunity for us to get a player who can help us on the blue line, especially while we have guys on defence out due to various injuries,” said 67’s GM and coach Chris Byrne. “Ryan will provide us with some immediate help and we’ll have a chance to evaluate him and see how he can help us in the future.”

Last week, Ottawa made a trade with the London Knights to get 17-year-old defenceman Owen Stewart who is from Greely
