The QMJHL in mourning following the passing of Dr. Guy Morissette

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League is in mourning following news of Dr. Guy Morissette’s passing. He passed away at the age of 84 years of age.

Morissette was the 9th president of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 1984 to 1986. As head of the QMJHL, doctor Morissette created the Sports-Study program. He loved sports, particularly hockey. He also founded the Junior B Hockey League in Outaouais and was President of the Quebec Federation of Ice Hockey from 1979 to 1983.

Specializing in orthopaedics, he practiced medicine in both Quebec and Ontario.

The QMJHL would like to extend its deepest condolences to his family.
