Press Release
MUSKEGON, Michigan (October 30th) – The Muskegon Lumberjacks are
proud to announce that Forward Robbie DeMontis has made his college
commitment to play for the Bulldogs of Yale University out of the ECAC
following his junior career.
DeMontis, the Kleinburg, Ontario native, was drafted by the
Lumberjacks in the 19th-round (278th overall) during the 2013 USHL Phase
Two Draft and is currently in his first season with Muskegon. This
season, DeMontis has tallied six assists in 12 regular season games
played.
“The coaching staff (at Yale) is unbelievable, and they are focused
on helping their players develop and get better. That is something that
is very important to me,” said DeMontis. “Also, the opportunity to
play for a great hockey program as well as getting a world class
education was something I couldn’t pass up. I couldn’t be more excited
to join Yale’s program, and I think it’s the perfect fit for me.”
Before arriving in Muskegon, DeMontis spent last season with The Hill
Academy in Vaughan, Ontario totaling 122 points (47 goals and 75
assists) to go along with a plus-76 rating in 64 games played. Prior to
playing with The Hill Academy, DeMontis played for the Vaughan Kings
Minor Midget AAA Team during the 2011-12 season recording 41 points (14
goals and 27 assists) in 47 games played.
