CJHL CHAIRMAN SAYS IT WILL BE A GREAT YEAR

Press Release

On behalf of the Canadian Junior Hockey League, and its member leagues, welcome to the 2011-2012 season. The CJHL's member leagues and teams work hard every day to deliver you exceptional entertainment and unquestioned value and we thank you for your continued support.

The CJHL judges success by its ability to enhance and expand development and exposure for our players in order to increase the number of opportunities to further their academic and hockey careers. Our continuing and growing ability to deliver these to our athletes is evidenced by the CJHL players and alumni selected in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft and all of our players who have earned the opportunity to advance their academic and hockey careers at various levels, including the NHL, CHL, NCAA and Canadian universities and colleges.

In May, the CJHL was extremely pleased to announce the extension of its partnership with the NHL and Hockey Canada. This partnership provides financial and personnel support for the World Junior A Challenge (WJAC) and the CJHL Prospects Event, and speaks directly to our continuing ability to provide development, exposure and opportunity for our players.

As we look forward to the coming season, the CJHL is thrilled to continue working with Hockey Canada, the NHL and Canada's great hockey communities on our premier events – the WJAC, the CJHL Prospects Event the RBC Cup. These events are not possible without strong local community involvement and thank you to the sponsors and volunteers in Dauphin, MB, Penticton, BC, and Camrose, AB for their outstanding hosting and support of these events last season. The CJHL looks forward to working with the community of Langley, BC, host of the 2011 WJAC and CJHL Prospects Event, and the community of Humboldt, SK, host of the 2012 RBC Cup.

Finally, congratulations to the Pembroke Lumber Kings of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) for winning their first ever RBC Cup!

Thank you again to our fans and good luck to all of our teams, players and coaches. See you at the rink!

Sincerely,

Kirk Lamb
