The Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U team of the North American Prospects Hockey
League (NAPHL) has announced that forward and team captain Shane McMahan has signed a tender with the NAHL’s Fairbanks Ice Dogs.
McMahan, a 16-year-old forward from Irvine, California, is coming off
one of the better individual performances of the year at the NAPHL and
NA3HL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota from November 30-December 3. In the
five games that the Ducks played, McMahan (6’0/200) registered 12
points, which included 9 goals and 3 assists. The Ducks went 4-1 at the
event at sit in 2nd place in the NAPHL’s 16U White Division with an
11-1-1 record so far this season.
McMahan has 14 goals so far this season, which ranks 3rd in the
NAPHL’s 16U Division. He also has 20 points, which ranks tied for 8th.
McMahan had two, four-point games while in Blaine and his 12 points
during the event ranked 2nd for all 16U players. McMahan is the first
player off the Ducks 16U roster to be tendered this season and the 10th
NAPHL player tendered overall by NAHL teams so far this season.
Last season, McMahan played for the Orange County Hockey Club 16U
team in the NAPHL (became the Anaheim Jr. Ducks this season), where he
ranked 2nd on the team in scoring with 17 points in 18 games played. In
his last six games, he has recorded a total of 14 points.
