Former Pats Captain Diagnosed with Kidney Disease

Press Release

Regina, Saskatchewan – Former Regina Pats Captain Kyle Deck has been diagnosed with IGA Nephropathy, an autoimmune kidney disease.

Deck, a father of two young children, played with the Pats for five seasons and was the Pats’ Captain from 2005 to 2007.  Kyle is in need of a kidney transplant in short order.  Therefore a matching donor needs to be found.

"We want to help Kyle in any way we can and right now we need to find a kidney donor match," says Pats President Brent Parker.  "Time is obviously an issue and we're asking for community assistance.  Kyle was always a very giving kid when he was our captain and if there's anything we can do, we will."

If you are interested in being tested as a possible kidney match for Kyle or anybody in need of a kidney transplant, please contact Craig at the Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic at 766-6444
