Cobourg Cougars captain Evan Jasper (photo credit - Dave Powers/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Sacred Heart University Pioneers beginning with the 2013-14 Atlantic Hockey season.
The 5'9", 184 lbs. native of Whitby, Ontario joined the OJHL as a
17-year old member of the Bowmanville Eagles in 2009-10, playing under
current Cougars head coach Curtis Hodgins. After recording five goals
and nine points in 37 games played, Jasper was dealt to Cobourg where he
continues as the club's undisputed leader today. Each year since the
deal, the diminutive forward has continued to improve his offensive
statistics, finishing fourth on the club in scoring with 52 points
during their record-setting season last year, while earning a spot on
the OJHL East Division All-Stars that competed at the inaugural Central
Canada Cup All-Star Challenge that was held in Smiths Falls, Ontario.
Thus far this season, Jasper leads the Cougars in scoring with 20 goals
and 33 points in 32 games played.
Congratulations to Evan and best of luck as he completes his junior career and looks forward to the future!
