Jordan Shockley of the Minnesota Wilderness named Pizza Hut player of the week

Press Release

THUNDER BAY, Ont. – The Superior International Junior Hockey League announced Monday that Jordan Shockley of the Minnesota Wilderness has been named the Pizza Hut player of the week for the period ending Dec. 2.

In two games this past week the 20-year-old Duluth native registered five points helping the league-leading Wilderness skate to a pair of victories.

He began by scoring once and dishing out two assists in a 7-2 win over Fort Frances on Friday.
The Minnesota forward followed that up the next night by adding two more helpers, including setting up the game-winner another in a 5-1 triumph over Duluth.

On the season Shockley sits tied for second in the league in offensive production with 35 points on 11 goals and 24 assists.

His five game-winning tallies also pace all skaters in the league and his club has gone 17-1 in games where he registers at least one point for the SIJHL front-running and Canadian Junior Hockey League No. 3 ranked Wilderness.

Honourable mention for the Pizza Hut player of the week award went to Austin Lewis, (F) Dryden Ice Dogs; Jordan Christianson, (F) Fort Frances Lakers; Mathias Gardiman, (F) Thunder Bay North Stars; Chase Hollander, (G) Minnesota Iron Rangers and A.J. Merritt (D) Duluth Clydesdales.

At the conclusion of the 2012-13 regular season, the SIJHL’s top performer will be presented the league’s Pizza Hut player of the year award.
