Hockey
Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), announced
Friday that forward Colton Sissons of the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets will not
be able to attend Canada’s National Junior Team selection camp due to
an injury.
"We feel terrible for Colton," said Rockets
president and general manager Bruce Hamilton. "It's every kids dream to
play in the World Junior Tournament so this is a difficult decision for
Colton. We are going to do everything we can to support him though
this."
Sissons will not be replaced, bringing the number
of players attending selection camp to 36, including four goaltenders,
12 defencemen and 20 forwards.
Canada’s National Junior Team selection camp runs
Dec. 11-13, 2012 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at Canada Olympic Park in
Calgary.
