SJHL SOURCE EMBROIDERY POWER RANKINGS

Press Release

1-YORKTON TERRIERS (23-8-0-1) … 1st last week
Even with a couple of key regulars out of the line-up, Terriers don’t skip a beat.

2-NOTRE DAME HOUNDS (21-9-0-3) … 2nd last week
They finally lost on Sunday at the tail end of three games in three nights.

3-MELVILLE MILLIONAIRES (19-10-1-2) … 5th last week
Showed some character and guts by going up north and beating Flin Flon.

4-FLIN FLON BOMBERS (21-11-0-0) … 3rd last week
Complacency is a terrible thing.  They lead the North, but three teams in the Sherwood are just ‘that’ much better right now.

5-HUMBOLDT BRONCOS (19-10-2-0) … 4th last week
They look to be back on track with back to back wins, but are under .500 in last ten.

6-BATTLEFORDS NORTH STARS (16-13-1-0) … 7th last week
Creech goes down, but Parker is a revelation and the Stars have dropped just two of their last ten.

7-NIPAWIN HAWKS (15-11-1-4) … 6th last week
An underwhelming week when they had a chance to really make a statement.

8-KINDERSLEY KLIPPERS (12-16-2-2) … 12th last week
There clearly is a divide from the top seven and the bottom five.  Klippers are the best of the bottom five at the moment.

9-ESTEVAN BRUINS (11-17-2-0) … 11th last week
They teased us again by shutting out Humboldt and beating Yorkton, but then got waxed by the Terriers one night later.

10-LA RONGE ICE WOLVES (12-20-0-3) … 8th last week
Three straight losses, but the schedule maker wasn’t kind (Melville, Notre Dame, Humboldt)

11-MELFORT MUSTANGS (12-18-1-1) … 10th last week
They simply aren’t scoring enough.  The pieces to the puzzle are there, but they need to be less selective.

12-WEYBURN RED WINGS (9-19-0-2) … 9th last week
Just when they appeared as though they were going to move up in the standings, they go winless in five straight.

WHO’S HOT
Colby Daniels, Kindersley (7-6-7-13)
Early favorite for Player Of The Month at the halfway point.

Giovanni Bombini, Kindersley (7-3-10-13)
Working well with Daniels to give the Klippers some elite scoring.

Jesse Bernard, Nipawin (6-4-7-11)
Red hot, riding a six game point scoring streak.

Patrick Martens, Yorkton (7-6-7-13)
Looking more and more like that elite player the Terriers ‘could’ be lacking.

Shaun MacPherson, Kindersley (8-3-5-8)
Rookie defenseman blossoming and will be a force in the second half.

Dawson MacAulay, Yorkton (2-1, 1.34, .949, 1SO)
Settling into a role for the first time in his junior career, MacAulay is starting to really impress.

Nate Ferris, Weyburn (0-1-0-1, 1.74, .945)
How about a little support?

Alex Wakaluk, Melville (5-2, 1.82, .944, 1SO)
He’s Exhibit A as to why the Mils have decided to really go for it.  Great goaltending wins championships and Wakaluk might be top of the class in the SJHL.
