Rocket Roster Updates

Press Release

Since resuming training camp earlier this week, things have been rolling along and the roster is getting closer to being finalized with a few slots still open. When asked about progress, assistant coach Luke Beck said “We’re doing well and it’s good to be back on the ice. The boys are working hard to get ready for the Rocket home opener on September 21st, but right now we’re looking forward to the exhibition game at Acadie-Bathurst this Friday, August 31 versus the Titan.”

For acquisitions, forward Erik Robichaud was acquired off waivers and will be reporting to camp soon. 19 year old Robichaud is from Timmins, Ontario and stands 5”9 at 170lbs. He played 57 games last year as a center with the Moncton Wildcats scoring 8 goals while garnering 4 assists for a total of 12 points.

Releases include Dane Phaneuf, who announced that he is going to return to Edmonton to pursue Junior A opportunities there. Besides Phaneuf, goaltender Chris Gallant and forward Ross Martin are being returned to their respective junior teams.

With all of the changes, the roster now stands at 26.
