Gallacher Commits to Ohio State University

Press Release

The Camrose Kodiaks are pleased to announce that 17-year-old defenseman Ben Gallacher (Calgary, AB) has committed to attend Ohio State University (Central Collegiate Hockey Association) for the 2011 season. Ben is currently in his second season with the Kodiaks.

Ben was a member of Team Canada West in Summerside, P.E.I. for the 2009 World Junior A Challenge where he helped the team to a silver medal. He has also been named to the 2010 South Division A.J.H.L All-Star Team. Ben has played in 20 games in his sophomore campaign, accumulating 1 goal and 14 assists for 15 points.
“Ben has made huge strides for us this year” says G.M./Coach Boris Rybalka. “He is just beginning to round into shape again after his injury and we look forward to great things from Ben in the second half of the season. We are not surprised that he is on the NHL Central Scouting Bureau’s “Players to Watch” list for the 2010 draft.”

The Kodiaks would like to congratulate Ben and his family. We are extremely proud of Ben and his accomplishments, and look forward to his continued contribution to our program in preparation for what is sure to be a very successful collegiate career with the Ohio State Buckeyes.
