RUTT HEADS HOME TO MAINE

Here's my story

Press Release

Hooksett, NH - The New Hampshire Junior Monarchs are pleased to announce that defenseman Jacob Rutt of Scarborough, ME, has committed to the University of Maine for the fall of 2011.

In his first year in the EJHL after starring at Scarborough High School, Rutt has caught the attention of many a scout and was recently listed on the NHL Central Scouting bureau's Mid Term Rankings list. An athletic defenseman, who was a star baseball player before turning his focus to hockey, Rutt possesses a deadly shot, and raw puck-carrying ability. A tireless competitor, Rutt also adds a physical element to every shift he takes, and never shies away from a chance to play the body.

Things of late had really been heating up for Rutt in regards to the recruiting process, as a number of schools had begun pursuing him aggressively. The decision to stay in Maine and play for the team that he had grown up watching was an easy one however, and he is very excited for the opportunity he has been given.

Rutt has been on a tear lately with 4 goals in his last 5 games and he has started to become much more of a threat to carry the puck end-to-end every chance he touches the puck. With another year of junior hockey next season to fine-tune his game, Maine should be getting a very good defenseman in the 2011.

Jacob is the son of Lisa and Norman Rutt of Scarborough, ME.
