WAHL COMMITS TO BROWN UNIVERSITY

The Omaha Lancers announced that defenseman Matt Wahl has committed to Brown University and will attend the Ivy League school beginning in the fall of 2010.

Playing in his first USHL season, Wahl has registered four points (4a) and a plus-10 rating in 24 games for the Lancers. In his USHL debut, he dished out an assist and posted a game high plus-three rating in the season opening 3-1 victory over Tri-City. The 18-year-old native of Wellington, Florida was originally selected by the Lancers in the sixth round (73rd overall) of the 2009 USHL Entry Draft.

The Brown University Bears are members of the ECAC and have four USHL graduates on the roster for the 2009-10 season; Anthony Borelli (Lincoln Stars), David Brownschidle (Tri-City Storm), Jordan Pietrus (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), and Dan Rosen (Green Bay Gamblers). In addition, Brown assistant coach Jerry Keefe played two seasons (1994-96) in the USHL for the Omaha Lancers.
