Madaisky Added To 2010 Home Hardware CHL / NHL Top Prospects Roster January 14, 2010 []

Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that defenceman Austin Madaisky of the WHL’s Kamloops Blazers has been added to the Team Cherry roster for the 2010 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game which takes place January 19-20 at the WFCU Centre in Windsor, ON. Madaisky replaces defenceman Erik Gudbranson of the Kingston Frontenacs who is unable to participate.

Madaisky, a 17-year-old from Surrey, BC, is in his second WHL season and has played in just one game with the Blazers since being acquired in a trade from the Calgary Hitmen. In his debut with the Blazers last night, Madaisky scored a goal and an assist and was named second star of a 5-4 win over the Portland Winterhawks. In 40 games this season he has six goals and 14 assists for 20 points with 48 penalty minutes. The 6’2’’ defenceman was recently ranked 59th overall amongst North American Skaters by NHL Central Scouting in their midterm rankings.

Home Hardware continues as the title sponsor of the Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game for the eleventh straight year. Associate sponsors include Bank of Montreal, Subway, and NeilMed. The game will be broadcast nationally live on Rogers Sportsnet and RDS.
