Gubb accepts scholarship to NCAA Div. I Michigan Tech

The Salmon Arm SilverBacks Junior A Hockey Club is pleased to announce that forward Tyler Gubb has accepted a scholarship commitment to Michigan Tech University. The twenty-year-old Assistant Captain will suit up for the NCAA Division I Huskies hockey program next season.

A native of Stouffville, Ontario, Gubb is playing in his first season with the SilverBacks after being acquired in an offseason deal from the Victoria Grizzlies.

"Tyler has been great for us on and off the ice this season," comments Salmon Arm general manager Rylan Ferster. "He comes to play every night."

Gubb has picked up 20 goals and 43 points along with 73 penalty minutes in 46 games for the SilverBacks this season. In 105 total BCHL games played over two seasons, the 20-year old has combined to score 32 goals and 75 points.

"I would like to thank Tyler for joining our roster and appreciate everything he brings to the hockey club." SilverBacks owner Randy Williams says.

The entire SilverBacks organization would like to congratulate Tyler and his family on this great accomplishment.
