Huard set to return

Press Release

Woodstock Slammers bench boss Jason Tatarnic has confirmed the return of Nick Huard for the 2010-2011 season. Huard finished third in league scoring and led the Slammers team in scoring with 41 goals and 35 assists in 48 games last year. "It's a question that I have been asked frequently by fans. We're excited to have Nick back as he was a big factor in our success last year. Nick has the ability to provide offense but he is very sound defensively which makes him an impact player. This season Nick will be asked to provide leadership to our new and returning players. Nick will be in a leadership role and he shares our expectations as an organization" commented Head Coach Jason Tatarnic.

Huard will be arriving in Woodstock this week to prepare for the 2010-2011 season and he had this to say "I am definitely looking forward to returning to Woodstock for another season. As long as we stay focused on our team goals then we will be able to repeat ourselves by winning the Kent Cup again this year".

The Woodstock Slammers will defend their Kent Cup Championship when they face the Summerside Capitals in their home opener on September 17th at the Carleton Civic Centre. "It seems that our new and returning players really want to repeat as champions. It's a great feeling and a feeling you want to experience again but it's not easy to do. Championships are hard to win" added Tatarnic.
