Visca was recently acquired in a trade with the Saginaw Spirit. The 19-year old star forward was a fifth round selection of the Spirit in 2007. After two successful seasons with the Orangeville Crushers Jr. A team, Visca accepted a full hockey scholarship at the UNIVERSITY OF LOWELL-MASS.

Visca was the youngest player on the 30 man roster at UMASS LOWELL last season. This summer, Visca took some time to reconsider his options and opted to sign with the Wolves and continue his studies at Laurentian University.

"Robert is an exciting hockey player and Wolves fans are going to enjoy watching his offensive skill" notes Wolves' GM Blaine Smith. "Robert is a goal scorer and a leader. He enjoyed two great seasons in Orangeville and proved that he can score at the junior level. He will be a tremendous asset to our organization in his final year of junior."

"I am very excited to be part of the Sudbury Wolves organization" states Visca. "My decision to leave the NCAA was based on my belief that Sudbury has a outstanding program and provides a great opportunity for me to develop my skills as a hockey player while making an impact with this hockey team. I will be continuing my studies at Laurentian University and look forward to playing in a Wolves uniform"

VISCA will wear #96 for the Wolves this season.

In addition to Visca, earlier this month the Sudbury Wolves signed their third player from the 2010 OHL Entry draft by announcing the signing of second-round selection – Sam Schutt.

SCHUTT, 16, was the Wolves’ second selection in the second round taken 40th overall. SCHUTT was an offensive leader for the OTTAWA VALLEY TITANS that captured the Ottawa District Minor Midget Championship this season.

Schutt scored 24 goals in 29 league games and added 28 assists for 52 points. In the play-offs, Schutt was outstanding with 10 goals in 10 play-off games. He also added 10 assists to earn 20 points in 10 play-off games. Sam shoots left but played mostly right-wing this season with Ottawa Valley.

“Sam is a gifted goal scorer with a great touch around the net” notes Wolves’ GM Blaine Smith. “He has excellent acceleration and speed. He had an outstanding U17 Final Camp in July and he proved that he is among the elite players in his age category in the province.”

Schutt has a number of relatives that reside in the Sudbury area including his uncle Rod Schutt, who was a stand-out for the Wolves back in the 70’s. Rod Schutt still holds a number of franchise records including the most goals scored in a season – 72 goals in 1975-76.

“I can hardly wait to get up to Sudbury and compete for a spot on the top lines” notes Schutt. “I know I have to be patient but being patient is not really part of my nature. I love scoring goals and I want to show what I can do up there in Sudbury. The fans are great and I have lots of family support in Sudbury. My uncle Rod was a star for the Wolves and I would like to continue our family tradition in Sudbury.”

With the addition of Schutt, the Wolves have now signed all three of their first three draft selections – Mathew Campagna (5th overall), Brody Silk (26th overall) and Schutt (40th overall). All three players are young skilled offensive forwards with excellent speed and are sure to make an impact in due time.
