QMJHL training camps set to open

BOUCHERVILLE, Friday, August 13, 2010 – Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team training camps are set to open in the next few days and within a few weeks, the League’s 42nd season will officially get under way.

The regular season schedule kicks off on Thursday, September 9 with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan battling the defending President Cup champions in Moncton. In the meantime, clubs will take part in pre-season games which will begin on Thursday, August 19. Pre-season action starts with a clash of division rivals as the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies square off against the Val-d’Or Foreurs at the air Creebec Centre.

Teams will take to the ice on the following dates:

Baie-Comeau - August 16
Cape Breton - August 19
Chicoutimi - August 16
Drummondville - August 16
Gatineau - August 17
Halifax - August 18
Lewiston - August 19
Moncton - August 18
Montreal - August 16
P.E.I. - August 18
Quebec - August 16
Rimouski - August 18
Rouyn-Noranda - August 16
Saint John - August 18
Shawinigan - August 16
Val-d'Or - August 16
Victoriaville - August 17
