Tigers sign 2010 First Round Selection Spenser Jensen

Medicine Hat, AB – Medicine Hat Tigers are pleased to announce they have signed Spenser Jensen, their first round pick in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft.

The 6’ 4”, 175 lbs defenseman from Airdrie, AB was selected 14th overall by the Tigers in this year’s bantam draft. Jensen played for Airdrie Xtreme of the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League, helping to lead the team to a first place finish in the Ram South division last season. Jensen played 32 games with the Xtreme, scoring 2 goals and adding 21 assists for 23 points while amassing 90 penalty minutes. Jensen was also selected to play in the 2010 Alberta Cup for the South Senators.

“As an organization, we are excited to have Spenser commit to our program,” said Tigers’ general manager Brad McEwen. “We look forward to Spenser being a real productive defenseman for us in the future.”

Jensen is among 80 Tigers prospects attending rookie-training camp which is underway until Sunday at the Medicine Hat Arena.
