67’s’ Shane Prince to play in Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game

Press Release

Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Ottawa 67’s forward Shane Prince will compete in the 2011 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game January 18-19 at Air Canada Centre.

Prince will suit up as a member of Team Cherry, replacing Gabriel Landeskog of the Kitchener Rangers who is unable to participate due to injury.

The 18-year-old from Spencerport, New York, appears ranked 35th among North American skaters in NHL Central Scouting’s Midterm Rankings. Playing in his third OHL season, Prince is currently second in OHL scoring with 74 points in 41 games, just one point behind 67’s’ teammate Tyler Toffoli who competed in this event last season before being selected in the second round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Los Angeles Kings.

The Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game features 40 of the CHL’s top draft eligible players for the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. This annual showcase features the next wave of NHL talent from the Ontario Hockey League, Western Hockey League, and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The 2011 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game is supported by associate sponsors Bank of Montreal, Subway, and CCM. The game will be broadcast live to a national audience on Rogers Sportsnet and RDS beginning at 7:00 pm Eastern.
