BOUCHARD TO UCONN

Springfield, MA- The Springfield Pics are proud to announce that forward Tyler Bouchard has committed to the University of Connecticut for next fall. Bouchard, the Pics current Captain, is a native of Glastonbury, CT, and a 1992 birth year. He currently leads the team in scoring with 17 goals, 14 assists, 31 points in just 21 league games. Tyler was named to the 2011 EJHL All Star team and was also a member of the EJHL pre-season Select Team that played in Russia this past August.

“It is an honor to be joining the UConn ice hockey team, and the UConn athletic family. Being a Connecticut native, it is a dream come true to become a Husky. I would like to thank the Pics coaching staff, Coach Tabb, Coach Daniels and Coach Smith for all of their help and support throughout my years in Springfield, and also would like to thank my family for all of their love and support,” commented Bouchard.

Tyler is the second Division One committed player and third college commitment of the young season for the Pics. He is currently three goals from hitting the 60 goal total in his EJ tenure while also amassing 117 points.

“We would like to congratulate Tyler and his family on this accomplishment. It was never a question of if but when Bouch would find his DI home. He posses a high skill set, a gifted goal scorer, with a great quick release. Tyler has shown the commitment on and off the ice, he came here two seasons ago with a goal and we are happy to see him accomplish that,” stated GM/Coach Patrick Tabb.
