Dun posts first BCHL shutout amongst three wins to take POW

Cowichan Valley Capitals netminder Derek Dun has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 27, the league announced Monday.

Dun got his first BCHL shutout with a 1-0 win over the Victoria Grizzlies Saturday to pick up his third win of the week. The Surrey native was named a game star in each of the victories which also included another defeat of Victoria and a win over Nanaimo.

The 6-foot, 170-pound goalie had a 1.00 goals-against average for the week as well as a .961 save percentage. He has equalled his career high in wins with nine for the first-place Caps.

Honourable mentions this week go to Nanaimo Clippers defenceman Graeme McCormack (two games, two goals, three assists, 3rd Star), Penticton Vees forward Connor Reilly (three games, three goals, three assists, 1st Star, 2nd Star), Powell River Kings forward Evan Richardson (three games, two goals, five assists, 1st Star, 2nd Star), Merritt Centennials defenceman Billy Marshall (three games, two goals, 1st Star, 2nd Star) and Salmon Arm SilverBacks goalie Kurt Williams (two games, two OT wins, 1.92 GAA, .951 sv%, 3rd Star)
