Kyle Raftis Named OHL Director of Recruitment, Education Services and Player Development

Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League today announced the appointment of Kyle Raftis as its Director of Recruitment, Education Services and Player Development.

Raftis, a native of Toronto, Ontario, will be responsible for developing and implementing League recruitment strategy and activities, liaising with post-secondary institutions while managing the Scholarship Program for OHL graduate players and coordinating and facilitating OHL development initiatives in conjunction with Minor Midget teams across Ontario and parts of the United States.

Raftis, 25, played five years in the Ontario Hockey League including participating in the 2006 MasterCard Memorial Cup as a member of the OHL Champion Peterborough Petes. Raftis culminated his OHL career the following year as the captain of the Petes after which he attended Dalhousie University, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Management.

Raftis takes over for Joe Birch who accepted a position as a Player Agent within the hockey industry.

Raftis will work out of the League office and will commence his duties with the Ontario Hockey League effective immediately.
