Generals Acquire Defenseman Peter Hermenegildo

Oshawa Generals General Manager Chris DePiero announced today that the Generals have acquired the rights of defenseman Peter Hermenegildo from the Saginaw Spirit.

In return, the Generals have sent a 7th round pick in the 2013 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.

Hermenegildo, an over-ager and thus in his last year in the OHL, was originally drafted by the Sudbury Wolves in the third round, 47th overall in 2007.

A native of Thornhill, Ontario, Hermenegildo has collected a tremendous amount of experience in his 5 years in the league. In his 241 regular season games played, he has tallied 31 goals and 70 assists for 101 points 319 penalty minutes. Hermenegildo also has 24 games worth of post season experience, in which he totalled 7 points.

Hermenegildo has earned 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points in his 15 games played this season with the Saginaw Spirit, who currently sit third last in league standings.
