Ducks defenseman Schlerf signs NAHL tender with Springfield

The Anaheim Jr. Ducks 18U team of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) has announced that defenseman Ryan Schlerf has signed a NAHL tender with the Springfield Jr. Blues.
Schlerf (6’1/185), a 17-year-old defenseman from Garden Grove, California, is having a solid comeback year for the Ducks after missing the last half of last season due to an injury.   The Ducks 18U team is coming off a 2-1-2 record at the recent NAPHL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota from November 30-December 3.  The Ducks 18U team is currently tied for third place in the NAPHL’s White Division with 9-3-2 record so far this season.

Schlerf has 2 assists and 39 penalty minutes in 13 NAPHL games so far this season.  He is known as a stay at home defenseman who plays a physical brand of hockey.  Schlerf is the second player off the Ducks 18U team to be tendered this season.

Last season, Schlerf captained the LA Selects 16AAA team.  He played in 29 games and finished third in scoring amongst defenseman with 8 points.
