STORM ACQUIRE DRAFT PICK FROM CHICAGO

Press Release

KEARNEY, Neb. – Tri-City Storm head coach and general manager Josh Hauge announced Monday that the team has acquired a conditional draft pick from the Chicago Steel in exchange for the rights to defenseman Bill Eiserman.

Eiserman, who played for the Storm in 2010-11, has decided to leave UMass-Lowell, where he was in his sophomore season and return to the USHL.

The defenseman played in 54 games with Tri-City two seasons ago, registering four assists and 62 penalty minutes.

With Lowell in 2011-12, Eiserman played in 29 games and also had four assists. So far in 2012-13, the West Newbury, Mass. native suited up for three games with the Riverhawks.

“It was a tough situation for us,” Hauge said. “The league only allows us to have four 1992 birth year players and with Brian Ward, Johan Mattsson, Tim Bonner and Trevor Mingoia, we felt that all four of those players were very key components to our hockey team and guys that are very valuable within the locker room.”

“We wanted to bring him in but he hasn’t paid his dues in the locker room this year so we’re going to be loyal to the guys that have been here all season.”
