The Prince George
Cougars are pleased to announce the signing of goaltender Matt Kustra
(1997-Yorkton, SK) to a standard Western Hockey League contract.
Kustra was selected by the Prince George Cougars in the eighth round (167th overall) in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft.
Earlier this season, Kustra represented Team
Saskatchewan at the U-16 Challenge Cup. Kustra was named Player of the
Game for Saskatchewan during their matchup with B.C. He currently plays
Midget AAA in Saskatchewan with the Notre Dame Hounds.
Kustra becomes the fifth player from a strong Cougars
2012 draft class to sign with the team. Others include: Jansen Harkins
(first round, second overall), Brad Morrison (first round, seventh
overall), Tate Olson (second round 24th overall) and Aaron Boyd (second round 43rd overall).
Kustra dressed as a backup goaltender in each of the past three games during the Cougars recent Alberta road-swing.
