Press Release

The Sioux Falls Stampede announced that forward Josh Holmstrom has committed to the University of Massachusetts Lowell for the 2010-11 season.

The Colorado Springs, Colorado native is in his second season with the Stampede and has posted 10 points (2g, 8a) through 16 games this season. The 20-year-old forward collected four assists in 6-2 win vs. Indiana on November 7th. Last season, Holmstrom recorded 25 points (14g, 11a) in 58 games for the Herd.

Ben played in Sioux Falls for three seasons (2003-06) and was captain of the Herd's Anderson Cup championship team in 2006. Members of Hockey East, the UMass Lowell River Hawks have four other former USHL players on the 2009-10 roster; Joe Caveney (Sioux City Musketeers), Sammy D'Agostino (Tri-City Storm), Jeremy Dehner (Green Bay Gamblers), and Nick Schaus (Omaha Lancers).
