Nanaimo tabs Colton Cyr as Clippers captain for 2010/11 season

The British Columbia Hockey League's Nanaimo Clippers are pleased to introduce Colton Cyr as their Captain for the 2010/11 season. The Nanaimo Minor Hockey product enters his third full season in a Clippers uniform and will be counted on heavily to lead the team on and off the ice.

"Colton has matured a great deal in the past season and is definitely up for the challenge to lead the Clippers in his home town," says Clippers head coach Bill Bestwick. "There is a great deal of expectation and pressure for our Captains and Colton understands the demands that will be placed on him."

Cyr wears # 11 and patrols left wing for the Clippers and has been working hard on his strength this off season. The 18-year old built on a strong rookie season during his second year with the Clippers, scoring 17 goals and 12 assists in 60 games.

"This is a real honor and I am committed to providing my teammates and coaches with 100% determination every single day," says Cyr. "All the Coaches have expressed their confidence in me and I do not intend to let them down."
