BULLS ANNOUNCE THE HIRING OF AUSTIN SUTTER TO FRONT OFFICE

Press Release

AMARILLO, TX – The Amarillo Bulls, 2011 South Division Champions, added to their front office with the hiring of former Amarillo Gorillas forward Austin Sutter.

Sutter, a native of Red Deer, Alberta Canada, has taken over the position of Business Development Manager, and will continue his role as volunteer Assistant Coach with the Amarillo Bulls. Sutter is also the coordinator for the Amarillo Youth Hockey Association.

“We are very pleased to add Austin to our front office,” said Bulls General Manager Chris Laurie. “He is a well-respected individual in our community, he knows the game, and will represent our organization with class and professionalism. We will lean on him to build new relationships as we continue to grow our business.”

Sutter is quite familiar with Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle, having spent four years (2006-2010) as a player with the former Amarillo Gorillas of the Central Hockey League. He played in 237 games and had 62 goals, 90 assists for 152 points and 163 penalty minutes. In 2008-2009 Sutter was presented with the Central Hockey League’s Man Of The Year Award for his leadership on the ice and in the community.

“I am extremely excited to be back in the hockey community and involved with a first class organization,” commented Sutter. “Hockey in the Texas Panhandle is back and better than ever. There hasn’t been a team this successful in years, and there is no better time to be a part of something great”

The Amarillo Bulls begin a stretch of road game this weekend with a return to Topeka, Kansas to face the RoadRunners at Kansas Expo Center-Landon Arena. It’s the first trip by the Bulls to Topeka since the Robertson Cup National Championship Tournament. The face off for both Friday and Saturday is set for 7 pm. Fans can tune into the action live on ESPN1440 and www.amarillobulls.com fueled by UStream beginning with pre-game show coverage at 6:45 pm. Denis J. Puska has the play by play action at 7 pm.
