Gauthier-Leduc, Pageau and Huberdeau named TELUS three stars of the month 2011-11-01 Karl Jahnke

Press Release

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced today the TELUS three stars of the month for October.

The first star is awarded to Jérôme Gauthier-Leduc. In twelve games, the Rimouski Océanic all-star defenseman scored 9 goals and added 12 helpers while posting a +12 rating. Gauthier-Leduc enjoyed a record-breaking stretch in which he registered at least one goal in eight consecutive games, eclipsing a 32 year-old record held by Gaston Therrien. The record was established against his former club, the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, on October 21. Moreover, he collected at least two points in eight games.

The second star goes to Jean-Gabriel Pageau. The Gatineau Olympiques right-winger scored an incredible 14 goals and added 6 assists in ten games; a two-point-a-game pace. Furthermore, he posted a +4 rating. The 19 year-old scored at least two goals in five games over the four-week span. Pageau also recorded a game-winner. The Olympiques won six games over that stretch.

The third star is the property of Jonathan Huberdeau. The Saint John Sea Dogs forward was the League’s top point-getter in October, collecting 22 points in ten games. Furthermore, he enjoyed five games in which he registered at least three points and posted an amazing +18 rating. Saint John has won its last seven games.
