Saints' Wiwchar wins MJHL Scholarship

Press Release

Tyler Wiwchar of the Winnipeg Saints has been named this year’s winner of the MJHL Scholarship Fund, Commissioner Kim Davis announced today.

Wiwchar, 20, is a defenceman with the Saints and also attends the University of Manitoba. This year’s scholarship award is worth $2,100.

“Tyler is an excellent representative of our league,” said Davis. “The MJHL is pleased to provide this scholarship opportunity to him. He’s proven to be an outstanding student and solid citizen in his community.”

“The MJHL Scholarship Fund exists to provide opportunities to players who wish to combine hockey and education in their careers. We wish Tyler all the best.”

This is the fifth year the MJHL has presented this scholarship. The Scholarship Fund is funded by donations from former players and the 11 MJHL member clubs. The Scholarship Fund is administered by the Winnipeg Foundation.
