SPITS BOLSTER BLUELINE WITH DEVLIN

Press Release

GM Warren Rychel continued to re-shape the look of his club today with a key acquisition on the blueline.

17-year-old Brandon Devlin has been acquired from the Barrie Colts in exchange for Windsor's 2nd round pick in the 2013 OHL Draft. Also heading to Barrie is a conditional 15th round pick.

The Spits had recently reacquired the 2nd rounder in the deal that sent Jack Campbell to the Soo Greyhounds. Today, Rychel parlayed that selection into a key player in the club's rebuilding process.

“Brandon is a strong two-way defenceman (6’2”, 200lbs) with unlimited potential,” Rychel told windsorspitfires.com. “He will fit nicely into our future plans.”

Devlin played in 80 games with the Colts in a full season plus with Barrie, putting up four goals and 11 assists with 94 penalty minutes.

He was originally Barrie's 3rd round selection, 55th overall, in the 2010 OHL Draft.

Brandon will be in the lineup this weekend as we head to Erie and Niagara on Friday and Saturday nights, before a visit from the Soo Greyhounds on Sunday afternoon.

Welcome to the Spitfire family, Brandon.
