Coquitlam
Express forward Brandon Morley will reunite with his older brother
Tyler at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks as he has accepted a
scholarship to play for the Nanooks.
Brandon began this
season with Surrey and came to Coquitlam in October. He has four goals
and 12 assists on the campaign and also took home a silver medal as part
of Team Canada West at the World Junior A Challenge in November.
The 5-foot-9, 160-pound forward has 92 points in 135 career BCHL
games. He and Tyler played together for two seasons in Surrey.
The Nanooks play in the NCAA's Division I Central Collegiate Hockey
Association (CCHA) against the likes of Notre Dame, Ohio State and
Michigan.
Former BCHLers Richard Coyne, Michael Quinn,
Garrick Perry, Kaare Odegard, Chad Gehon, Colton Beck and Tyler Morley
play on the team.
The elder Morley was recently named CCHA
rookie of the week and is tied for the team lead in scoring with 17
points including nine goals.
