McDonald and Fanjoy Join 67's

Press Release

July 25, 2013 (Ottawa, ON.): Two 2013 draft picks have entered into standard player agreements with the Ottawa 67's.  Centre Dylan McDonald (4th round) and forward Ben Fanjoy (5th round) will both be on the ice when the 67’s training camp opens at the end of August.

“Dylan is a strong two-way player who missed a portion of last season with an injury,” said 67’s Head Coach and GM, Chris Byrne.  “When our staff evaluated him, we rated him as one of the top players in his league, so I’d say we were fortunate to get him in the 4th round.  Ben played a leadership role on a Senators AAA team that got better throughout the season and he played in all situations.  We’re looking forward to seeing both players competing for a spot on our roster at training camp.”

The 6’0” Fanjoy scored 19 goals and totalled 42 points in 30 games with the AAA Senators last season.  6’2” MacDonald had 15 points in 17 games with the Upper Canada Cyclones.

New and returning members of the 67’s will be on the ice when the team’s training camp opens on August 28th at the Fred Barrett Arena in Leitrim.  The team’s first pre-season game will take place on September 3rd in Kemptville against the Kingston Frontenacs.  The regular season home opener is slated for September 20th at  the Canadian Tire Centre (formerly Scotia Bank Place) against the Belleville Bulls.
