Press Release
The Vancouver Giants announced today a
venue and time change for the September 8 preseason game in an effort to
promote their involvement with local minor hockey associations.
The Giants will take on the Kamloops Blazers at the Bill Copeland Arena in Burnaby on September 8th, 2013 at 3:00pm with part proceeds from the game going to the Burnaby Minor Hockey Association.
This
event strengthens the partnership the Giants already have with local
minor hockey associations, and also provides a great opportunity for the
local rink to host a WHL preseason game.
In
addition to having the game played at the Burnaby Minor Hockey
Association's local arena, Giants' Head Coach Don Hay, along with the
rest of the Giants' coaching staff, will run a practice for the members
of the minor hockey association.
Paul
Sidhu, the President of the Burnaby Minor Hockey Association says,
"Burnaby Minor is very proud to partner with the Vancouver Giants for
this great event. It will give our members a chance to watch a WHL game
in a local arena," adding, "having Don Hay and his coaching staff coach a
practice right after will be a thrill for our boys and girls."
