PRINCE GEORGE, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) held their Annual General Meeting on Tuesday
evening and now have a new look with the selection of thirteen members
to sit on the Board of Directors. Three new members will take up seats
and the four executive members are all new to their positions.
The
Board consists of new President: Todd Doherty, Vice President: Tom
Bohmer, Secretary: Stephen Riding, Treasurer: David Wilson along with
the nine directors: Rick Adams, John Abbott, Darcy Buryn, Michelle
Jolley (new), Dustin Robin, Rick Turgeon, Glen Whitehead (new), Kevin
Wotten (new) and Grant Zimmerman.
“It’s
an honour and a privilege to be selected as the president of this
organization with its long standing tradition in the community,” said
new Spruce Kings President, Todd Doherty. “I look forward to helping
guide our organization into the future, in building a team and
organization both on the ice and off that is committed to our core
values of commitment, strength, integrity and courage. We will look to
build off of our past successes, focusing on business, hockey and our
community ties in building future success both on and off the ice.”
Tood
Doherty was a member of the previous board and has been involved with
the team over the past ten years as a scout, director and broadcaster.
The
Prince George Spruce Kings are a community owned team operated under a
not for profit model and governed by a Board of Directors looking after
all aspects of the hockey club including the Annual Spruce Kings Show
Home Lottery. The club’s bylaws state that there are to be a minimum of
